Avatar

Avatar, I must say I attended this showing at the request of birthday boy Husband...And, pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed it! It was a very interesting concept, alien infiltration, crazy new planet...I thought the graphics were very sci-fi, however, I was impressed.
There was serious potential to invoke the great power of motion sickness, which sticks to me like glue, AND I was totally fine!! That made my day, I mean seriously, I'm the girl that throws up in the corporate jet with the CEO/President watching. Really? Does this happen to normal people? I think not. But, back to point, I really liked Avatar. I'm one for story, specifically romantic story...he he. It did it for me. I will not lie, I was all for the alien love scene!
My one point of contention....Unobtainium, the little grey rock. Really? Wow, how original. Dumbest name I've ever heard. Maybe a bit long too, my bum does get a bit sore...That's it though, not too bad!
Happy birthday Husband, I'm really thrilled you were born!! Love you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a great holiday. Surprising how it changes for me over the years. Still wonderful but different. I guess it hasn't lost any of its meaning, I am still grateful for all that I have, which is a lot. But, I hope my scattered little family is all happy this day. I love them. I won't see you all for who knows how long, but I miss you.
Thankfully, my husband has a wonderful family too! It's a relief to fit in and never feel out of place. A blessing, truly. But, time for the day to begin, lots to do with so little time!
Enjoy this day, really this season, it's the greatest time of the year!

Ian is Blogging for APX Alarm

Hey guys,
I am on the APX Alarm blog team, I publish the "Know your system" section of the blog. I'll be adding new stuff their weekly and its kind of a cool little webpage. Most of you probably don't have an alarm system, but if you want to know how all that stuff works, take a look at my column each week. Thanks!

Cats, also known as little demons.

I love my cats. But, I have to say: if children are anything like these stupid cats then we will not be having children for a while.
Ever since we brought them home things have been fine, except for the occasional scratching and clawing, they were little angels. However, as we have been pulling out the Christmas decorations things have taken a turn for the worse. The little fetchers keep yanking all the lights off of the christmas tree at every chance they get. It is beginning to be completely exasperating. In order to try and stop them from tearing the tree apart we'll grab the spray bottle and hose them down whenever they start ripping things up, however this just makes them more hyper and makes them want to play with things all the more. Reasoning with them does not work either, they never seem to understand what I am saying to them.
Even at this moment, as I write this post, I can here Tara downstairs giving Ender the what for. "ENDER! Knock it off! I'm going to toss you out the window!"
Its a good thing they are stinking cute, or they would be homeless at this moment.
P.S. If I am going to post on this Blog the girly background has got to go. I'm just saying.

My Like List, going hand-and-hand with my DO NOT LIKE LIST!

Super quick, I just have to say...I am really excited for "New Moon" to come out! However, I cannot stand Kristen Stewart. I absolutely cannot stand her!! So annoying, her voice, her mouth, her overall face...FAIL! Taylor on the other hand...He is with my other most favorite Taylor. Taylor Swift! Love them!! Too bad Kristen is in "New Moon." Also, I heard on the radio about a little squabble between Sarah Palin and Levi Johnson (the pig the impregnated her underage child). Seriously, he said "She underestimates me..." as if he is a threat?! What a dweeb. Oh my gosh. Sarah Palin is not anything too special in my book, however, this little wannabe, Levi, is getting on my nerves. He thinks he is cool. Really?! I will say, if she is paying Levi to insight this drama, it's working. I want to read about it in her book! HA HA! Going Rogue...her book, I am intrigued.

Ahh, Robert's...

So, cool story. The other night, my friend and co-worker, Nicole, and I went to the craft store. Clearly Robert's is the best in town so that's where we headed. Nicole needed to pick out some Christmas paper to make the Christmas count down blocks and I tagged along for moral support. My husband was going to pick me up from Roberts on his way home (it's right on the way). So, Nicole and I finished our shopping and headed outside to wait for my hubby. It was 6:07pm (funny how things sear into your memory...). As we were talking, all of the sudden, there was a really loud crash/scrap/breaking noise. I turn around towards Orem Blvd. and I was like, "what just happened?" Nicole was like, "that car just hit the motorcycle!" It was already dark so everything was just kind of black. We were only like fifty feet away so we started walking and then running over there. We were the first on the scene! We went to the motorcyclist and he was like half kneeling on the ground. Luckily he was ok, what we would have done if he was really hurt...no clue. So I talked to the guy asking him if he were ok and all that jazz. His shoe had been knocked off so I grabbed it for him, BUT before I touched anything I asked him if he wanted me to take pictures (thank you CSI/Law and Order SVU) he said no. Kind of sad, I wanted to be cool. :( So, I gave him his shoe. Nicole found his glasses. And then I started directing traffic. Nicole had to hold up the girl's dumper so she could pull in the turn lane. Her dumper was practically torn off her car. By the way, Nicole and I were running on adrenalin completely. Dang. Unreal. So, as we are doing this, another APX employee shows up! Protecting families, on and off the clock! He had been behind the driver of the car. He help the motorcyclist pick up his HUGE motorcycle that was lying in the road. Nicole and I started gathering broken glass and car/motorcycle parts out of the road. The police arrived and it was all over. 5 minutes. Seriously. So much happened...yikes. Scary. Crafts and car accidents, who would have known. ps. We decided it was most likely the motorcyclists fault in the accident. And, he was not wearing a helmet.

A BLAST From the PAST!

This weekend my mom and Tim came for a visit. With that came some digital up-loads of some of our old family pictures. Let's notice the mullit! LOVE IT! 1989. What a year, we are all pretty dang hot! I have to admit, this is one of my favorite pictures. That's a Merry Christmas from the Anderson clan. Twenty years have come and gone, things have changed a bit. We added one more and changed some other things but we are still family. A comforting thought really, no matter what, they're still mine!
I love me family.

A Few Good Men, 15 June 2009

So, I don’t consider myself a feminist by any means. However, today, standing in my mother-in-law’s kitchen I was outraged. We were watching parts of “A Few Good Men” to correctly identify the color of Tom’s apartment, which is to be duplicated in her kitchen. Then the scene came…Jack yelled, “What I do want is for you to stand there in you faggity white uniform and extend me so freakin’ courtesy” or so the original script reads. However, in its stead they substituted “girly” to make it TV appropriate. Is it less offensive to insult over 50% of the population? Or because “girly” has been used as an insult for generations it’s now okay? It’s clear why “faggity” would be offensive, I am not argueing that. I just cannot comprehend how changing the gender and target group makes it TV appropriate. Why not stupid or ugly? When did I consent to take the fall whenever someone else’s feelings might be hurt? That’s right, I didn’t. You fail TV censoror, complete fail.

Clever Name Right? I know...

I swore I would never, ever, write or keep a Blog. That is why I must say that I am slightly ashamed to start this. For whatever reason, I decided that I was really interested in doing this. We’ll see how long I actually keep it going. For now, this is kind of a introductory post and a place holder.

Tara will be posting shortly I’m sure.

Testing

This is a place holder. Just testing out the new Blog.
